Five under the radar fashion brands
/Here are five of the best up and coming brands that we know, you’ll love and you’ll feel great about spending your hard earned dollars because you know… #SupportLocal
Peony Swimwear
Look I get it, it's getting cooler... But let's be honest - it's always Summer somewhere right?! This premium Australian swimwear label has definitely won me over. Peony is a breath of fresh air in the swimwear industry by blending luxury fabrics with an exquisite bohemian style. It isn’t very often that I scroll through a website (especially swimwear) where I literally want to purchase everything. The brand allows you to personalise your look by offering mix and match option because there is nothing worse than having a fashion twin on the beach. Peony’s price point is competitive and even affordable compared to Seafolly, justifying my need for getting all three pairs.
Australian owned and designed female silk clothing brand, need I say more. Silk Laundry has made everyday silk basics affordable with their breathtaking range of slip dresses, camisoles, tops and bottoms. The minimalistic design makes it a wardrobe essential for many years to come, with the brand encouraging consumers to spend on pieces that last more than one wear.
Soludos Shoes
It’s hard to believe that this shoe brand has been around for seven years and hasn’t become an instant hit. The inspiration behind Soludos came from the traditional espadrilles sold along the Spanish Coast. What’s not to love about a brand that is fashionable, environmentally friendly and best of all comfortable? The brand’s signature quirky embroidered designs make for great statement pieces and conversation starters. Frequent collaborations with artist and fashion designers ensure that there is a wide range of shoes to suit everyone from sushi rolls to French Bulldogs (I have to admit I got the frenchies).
Coco Lou The Label
Local export, Coco Lou The Label, is a take on classic clean linens with a sustainable "slow label" mentality. This label has the perfect day-night-beach basics that we've grown to love here in Queensland (especially given our tropical climate). The label stocks a range white, dusk pink and black linen staples that are both ethically made and locally designed (seriously, she's based on the Gold Coast)!
Nimble Activewear
Made famous by our very own Roxy Jacenko is none other than Bondi Beach brand- Nimble Activewear. It’s not very often that an activewear brand manages to be both stylish and functional but someone Nimble has pulled it off. The brand's ability to provide consumers with edgy and abstract activewear without the ridiculous price tag sets them apart from other high-end brands that charge up to $200 for leggings. Going to the gym will be a whole lot more fun when you are wearing these bespoke legging.
